Both the 6 January Moruya Cup meeting and the meeting planned for Friday 17 January have been abandoned. The racecourse remains at risk of impact from the fire 4 km to the north. All the racehorses have been relocated to safer areas. Once the fire and smoke risk subsides horses will return to the racetrack and start training when the Club and trainers believe it is safe to do so. It is hoped this will happen in time for Moruya horses to compete at the Sapphire Coast meetings on the 1 and 2 February. Once the situation settles fully Moruya’s race program and the running of the 2010 Moruya Cup will be determined.
