A significantly upgraded irrigation system at the track was completed in late May. Costing just over $400,000 the new system not only replaces the old mainline and sprinklers around the course proper, it also adds irrigation to the starting shutes and an additional irrigation line on the outside of the home straight. The irrigation is now controlled by a start of the art computer system which allows it to be operated remotely and at pre-programmed times. This will allow watering to take place overnight so as to minimise wastage from wind and the heat of day in summer. The project was jointly funded by the Club and Racing NSW’s Country Racecourse Development Fund.
